When life bites you on the butt...

Tue May 1, 2007, 8:26 AM
...I guess you have to bite back.
After the relapse of my neuro condition before christmas, my drawing skills have still failed to return. Even signing my name is still a major adventure.
In the mean time, I’ve done some life modelling and self-portraiture. Mostly of poses I would like to have drawn.
I've had to learn about my body again having dropped from an athletic 150 pounds to below 125.
Still, the human body is a thing of beauty no matter what shape or size.

I am a member of :iconi--: and :iconselfportrait-mania:

I'd like to thank the talented artist :iconfaeriecrone: for using one of my pics I sent her to create this beautiful abstract piece [link]
I can't post the original as the DA police would have a fit.

I'm also starting a stock account :iconpubpusher-stock:

  • Drinking: The odd Guinness or two

I think you have done a fabulous job with the self-portraits so far! And I am terribly sorry to hear about your troubles. Your drawing is amazing, I do hope that you regain your ability.

Thank you so much Whitney

I arrived at your page via Jim's page.

And, to your attitude, I say "Bravo!"

I do not mean to pry but I would like to be helpful. I am no longer a practicing naturopath but I do enjoy helping if I can.

Thanks Kath.
It's a condition called Cerebellar Ataxia and unfortunately it's totally incurable or even treatable.
I've learnt to live with it now and enjoy the various challenges it throws at me.
Life goes on if you make it.

Now I spent some time reading on [link]; don't believe doctors when they say something is untreatable, though. Find different doctors :D Or a naturopath (I can recommend one in New Hampshire, USA, if that helps). Or both.

At any rate, the photography is welcomed.

[oh, and I see a naturopath commented above. My husband's cancer was cured by treatment prescribed by a naturopath.]

Seen a lot of doctors and neurologists. Even seen the scans myself. Until they can replace dead brain cells, it's untreatable.
I have improved greatly though with physiotherapy. I can now walk with aids whereas, I was wheelchair bound. The brain is a fantastic piece of kit. Help it out and it will try and find a way around it's own damage.
